Mind Power

Can you actively die? Interesting question? I had someone tell me their parent was “actively dying”. Is this even possible? I know people do give up and eventually die, but can they be considered to be actively dying? Do we have this kind of power in our mind?

My own mother may have basically done this. She lost her last living relative of her generation and decided she had lived long enough and over a 2 week period her health went downhill to her demise. The doctors did all sorts of tests and could not find anything physically wrong with her. So it seems in her mind, it was just time to die. But did she actively die? Her health was in a state of decline for a long time prior to this event. Was it just a coincidence that she died during the time that she gave up on living? Or did she will her end or actively die? On a side note, shortly after she passed, her dog went to the back door and started to whimper, an unusual action for them, like they were seeing something/one? Did mom pass through the house one more time? Maybe I should think about this more in my Cabin In The Woods, wait, I don’t have one, to my bath tub then.

Then there was my father. He lived with my sister and she had three small boys at the time so my Dad always saw them. They decided to go on vacation and some of my other siblings came to care for him (I have 8). After my sister’s family left, my Dad asked one of my siblings if the grandchildren were gone. He was told yes and he passed away shortly after that. He apparently didn’t want to die with them in the house, interesting, actively dying?
