A coworker took a call from a person who for some reason identified themselves as a parolee from California and also advised them they were convicted for domestic violence (TMI). Anyhow, they were upset that their parole officer had denied them permission to fly one way to Texas and doubly upset we wouldn’t refund their ticket. My coworker calmed them down and explained how the insurance works. They also pointed out to the claimant that booking a one way ticket to Texas; might be a cause of concern for their parole officer and they might interpret the trip as an escape attempt considering its neighbor. They hadn’t thought of that and even agreed maybe they should have.
