Internet Bullsh*t

8/20/15

Just because you can’t comprehend a subject, doesn’t make your opinion of it is right, even when you can locate false proof. You can search the internet and find a web site that backs up your ignorant stance, but you’d still be wrong. There are a lot of websites out there that are just full of bullsh*t and are not based on any real facts. But rather some ones wishful and/or delusional thinking. Reality is something very different from fantasy, but a lot of people want that fantasy and just reject the facts because it doesn’t suit their needs. On the web you can build yourself quite a make believe world and get other people to buy into it. Then it becomes accepted as a reality, but when that reality is proven to be false, that’s when the real reality of your society comes a knocking and all the illusions are shatter!

Let’s look at the great state of Texas for an example of delusion created on the web in regards to Jade Helm. In what fantasy world can 1200 Special Forces take over the entire state of Texas? Even their Governor fell for it, you would think they’d be more rational, but I guess not. The conspiracy theorists had no real facts, nor did they want to believe the ones the military was offering; instead they had misguided beliefs based on emotions and rumors that the military was going to invade and declare martial law because a map of the exercise showed Texas as hostile territory. It’s a war simulation people; someplace has to be the hostile territory.

Then there were the “volunteers” that were going to observe these military maneuvers, so they could warn the rest of us of what the military was really up too. First problem; the volunteers knew which bases to watch, but didn’t know when the military was actually carrying out the exercise or what was just routine military activity. Second problem; they were chasing after Special Forces who specialize in sneaking around, how do you locate a group that is trying not to be located? So these volunteers just ended up driving all over Texas chasing after ghosts and seeing nothing. Give the military some credit, if it was planning on invading any state, why would they announce it ahead of time? That would be very poor military strategy.

Then there was the part that involved the closed Walmart’s. Walmart only wanted to break the unionizing efforts in these stores; that’s why they closed them. Not because the military needed staging areas. Its Texas after all, if the military was looking for staging areas, there is plenty of wide open spaces in Texas to choose from, maybe even, the actual military bases that already exist there!

But in musing about this topic, maybe this is my form of fantasy vs reality on the web and if it comes crashing done, where will I find myself? Hopefully in my Cabin In The Woods.
