There is a train station that I use to pick my spouse up at that is located alongside a river.  One time there was a major storm and the river flooded the parking lot after everyone had left for work for the day and then receded before they returned.  Storm tidal forces can be interesting.  I remember seeing all these people trying to start their cars to no avail since the electrical systems were fried.  Then one individual got in their 70’s Nova and turned the engine over and water came out of the tail pipe and off they went, with many stranded people giving them the evil eye.  Sometimes having old technology has its advantages.
