I was with one of my children on a youth camping trip that had hundreds of children participating under the age of 11. For many it was their first time camping. It was a long and busy day. Around 10pm my child and me went to bed, even though they wanted to stay up, I was exhausted. But the woods were alive with the sounds of excited children and I didn’t anticipate getting any sleep, any time soon, as probably many other parents in the area were also thinking. Then there was a gift from God. It started to rain and it wasn’t a drizzle. Nothing dampers fun more in the woods than pouring rain. This greatly reduced the noise level as everyone ran for their tents. Though the children were back up with the sun the next morning; sleep, who needs sleep.
