Their Toast

10/7/15

Went to my usual deli the other day to order french toast. (This deli is a one person operation) There were a couple of people ahead of me whose orders we already being worked on. I placed my order and waited. After me, three other people came in and also placed their orders. The people in front of me received their orders and left and I figured I’d be getting my next. However, the person who came after got their order before me? I was like; ok whatever, no big deal. Then the next person got their order, humm? Followed by the third. Now I’m pissed, did they forget about me? It didn’t seem so. Finally they come out with my french toast and advise me I might need to heat it up. Heat it up, that means my order was done, sitting by the grill while they proceeded to complete the orders for the people who came after me! I didn’t order cold french toast, so why was I being served it? Now I’m not one to complain, yell or make a scene; I express my displeasure with my feet. I left, leaving them with their cold french toast, never to darken their doorway again. I’m just a bit puzzled as to why this occurred? If you have completed the order why are you waiting until its cold to give to the customer? You’re running a business, pissing off repeat customers or any customers, is not a good strategy to remain in business.
